AGRICULTURE LAND
- Cane - Pineapple
- Melon - Banana - Coffee
Costa Rica
is abundant with good agricultural land with large Cane, Pineapple,
Melon, Banana and many more industries. The coastal plains are
low, hot, and heavily forested. Bananas, cocoa, and sugarcane
are cultivated there. In the northwest is the Nicoya peninsula,
a semiarid plain where cattle and grain are raised.
A massive
cordillera, with peaks over 12,000 ft (3,658 m) high, cuts the
country from northwest to southeast. Within it, under the shadow
of volcanoes such as Irazú, lies the Central Valley, with a
perennially spring like climate. This valley is the heart of the
country, where coffee is cultivated and most of the population
and market facilities are located.
Although
industry is being developed at a moderate pace. Industries
include food processing and the manufacture of textiles and
clothing, construction materials, fertilizer, and electronics.
Coffee, bananas, sugar, and beef are exported, as well as
manufactured goods such as textiles.
CATTLE FARMS
With many favorable climates and varied topography from flat
valleys to sloping mountain sides, cattle farms are plentiful.
The lush vegetation and streams makes this a fine cattle
production country. The beef quality is very high. You can find many cattle farms for sale in many different parts
of the country such as San Carlos, . The dairy and meat
industries share an equal amount of popularity. Large spreads to
small ranches are fund in many areas of Costa Rica.
DAIRY FARMS
The
dairy industry has been an integral part of business and trade
in Costa Rica. As the only self-sufficient country in the
production of milk and other dairy products in the Caribbean and
Latin America, the exportation of these goods is a major source
of revenue for Costa Rica. Dairy farms in the San Carlos and
Guanacaste areas are of high quality and have very good
production.
TEAK FARMS
Costa Rica is extremely interesting for foreign investment in Teak farms thanks to the excellent
prospects of the Costa Rican and Central American market and a
stable economic policy. Large acreage Teak farms are for sale
with mature growth as well as reforested product. The
development of direct investments shows that Costa Rica is in
the process of transformation from a purely agricultural to an
industrial society. This is reflected amongst other things in
the major investments by international companies that hope to
exploit the advantages of the region such as proximity to the
markets of Latin America and a well-qualified and inexpensive
labor force. Teak foreign investments are very high thanks
to political stability and the high educational standard.
Internationally, Costa Rica is regarded as a model country in
the field of nature protection. A good 27 % of the total area of
the country is classified as nature protection zone. Ask
us about a major Teak manufacturing and growing operation we
have for sale.
Since the mid
1980s, greater use has been made of forestry in large parts of
the country. In the meantime, 39 % of the area of the country
has been reforested, with the share of plantations increasing.
Many of them have been certified with the international FSC
seal. Since 1996, payments have been made to Costa Rica for the
environmental services provided by forests and plantations.
PRESERVATION LAND / CONSERVATION LAND
Whether
your commitment is to preservation through buying a large tract
of Conservation Land and Preservation Land or extraction of rainforest floor products to produce drugs, the
Rain forest floor is a reserve of many wonderful opportunities.
The bulk of Costa Rica's forest cover is found in the Cordillera
Central, a mosaic of ecosystems and vegetation types including
rainforests (the vast majority), seasonal forests, deciduous
forests.
Despite its
constant shade, the ground floor of the rainforest is the site
for important interactions and complex relationships. The forest
floor is one of the principal sites of decomposition, a process
paramount for the continuance of the forest as a whole. It is
also home to thousands of plants and animals, and provides
support for trees responsible for the formation of the canopy.
The ground level is the region of the forest which was first
explored and has been the most intensively studied.
The
Rainforest occupies the Central Area of Costa Rica, embracing
about 30% of the national territory. It is the largest forest
formation of the country, conditioned by the humid equatorial
climate. It has a great variety of flora and fauna, living
between dense forests and open fields.
Wind Farming
land
Costa Rica now uses 99.2% renewable and sustainable energy.
While the country receives less than 0.5% of its energy from
wind energy, that amount is quickly increasing, as wind is the
world's fastest growing energy resource. The Costa Rica
Government is committed to the development of Wind Power
resources in some specific areas that lend themselves to good
production and close to the sub station that feed the grid.
Currently there are two projects available that are complete
with all necessary studies and permitting. More will be
forthcoming as studies are completed. The Lake Arenal area has
proved to be a good area for Wind Turbines.
SUGAR CANE FARMS (Caña)
(excellent land for ethanol production)
Costa
Rica has many very fertile large farms ideally suited to
planting for Ethanol production. Located near to all forms of
transportation with abundant labor available.
Ethanol is an alcohol fuel produced from the fermentation of
simple sugars. Most ethanol in the United States is produced
from corn. In other countries, sugarcane or other plants are
common feed stocks. In the United States, the increased demand
for corn leads to higher income for U.S. corn farmers. Ethanol
is usually blended in gasoline (a mixture called “gasohol”) to
increase octane, improve combustion, and extend gasoline stocks.
- Currently, about 1% to 2% of
total U.S. gasoline demand is actually met by ethanol, and
roughly 30% of U.S. gasoline contains some ethanol
- U.S. ethanol is generally
produced and consumed in the Midwest, close to where the
corn feedstock is produced. The main steps to ethanol.
These properties present a very
serious and good opportunity for Costa Rica land owners to
benefit from this boom for local consumption and export..
