This impressive estate sits on 3.7 acres of Costa Rican paradise and was custom built to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings. It enjoys views of the majestic volcano, the tranquil lake, rolling pasture lands, and the lush rainforest canopy. The estate is comprised of the main house, two guest houses, a four-car enclosed garage, workshop, extra covered parking space for guests, and a two-story gym overtop a storage bodega. For fresh-air fun, there is a custom-built pool, water slide, and a jacuzzi with a wood burning heater / sauna.

The houses are modern Bali-style architecture- a gorgeous combination of steel and sharp angles with natural stone and wood. All three houses are furnished with custom-made furniture and cabinets made from the most beautiful local hardwoods.

The entry gate is electric sliding metal panels with recessed columns. Inside the lighted columns are tribal guard statues. The entire driveway is inlaid with pavers and the garage to the main house has a covered walkway.

The main house is an entertainer’s dream. The vast front deck overlooks Lake Arenal below and spans the entire length of the principal section of the home. It is from here that the most breathtaking sunset can be observed daily. The deck is covered by a vaulted, tongue-and-groove roof, with ceiling fans and recessed lighting. Grill a delicious meal or make homemade pizza in the wood burning oven in the fully equipped outdoor kitchen.

The deck and the interior of the main house are separated by sliding glass doors that open the length of the room, giving the feel that the deck is an extension of the great room. Adding to the roomy feel is the forty feet high vaulted ceiling, again with fans and recessed LED lighting, as well as wooden slots and metal rafters for design accent.

The great room consists of the living room, dining room, and the gorgeous chef’s kitchen. The countertops are quartz, and the backsplash is multi-colored natural stone. The hand-crafted cabinets are made from the best local hardwood. To the side of the kitchen through swinging doors is an immense pantry with shelving made of hardwood, that reaches all the way to the vaulted ceiling. Through the pantry is the laundry room.

Beyond the dining room is a bedroom with sliding glass doors that lead out onto the main deck. Down the hallway there is another small room that is ideal for an office. Adjacent to the office is a tropical-style extra-large bathroom with hand-formed and hand painted faux stone textured walls. There is a wide bathtub with mosaic tile. The most impressive feature is the waterfall shower – the water splashes over when the basin above is filled. There are built-in planters all around the perimeter of the room to grow lush green tropical plants. The windows literally go from corner to corner, again to give the outdoor feel and a view of the volcano.

To the other side of the kitchen is the garden/stairway room that connects the main house with the split-level bedrooms. The extra wide stairs are formed and stained concrete. Both sides of the room have massive windows to take full advantage of the volcano view to the east and the lake to the west. Planters with a built-in watering system line the wall.

The lower bedroom suite includes a walk-in closet, tongue-and-groove ceiling, recessed lighting, and windows all around to take advantage of the spectacular views. The full bathroom boasts an over-sized mosaic tiled bathtub and walls made from ivory-colored, polished natural stone. The sliding glass doors lead out to a private balcony overlooking the rainforest canopy. This balcony can also be reached from the main deck by a ramp inlaid with natural stone.

Directly above the bottom suite is the master suite with the same layout. The ceilings are vaulted tongue and-groove. The master bath includes a walk-in, oversized rainfall shower and floor of polished river rock and faux-stone planter. The vanity has double vessel sinks and marble countertop. Toilet and bidet. Again, the suite has its own private balcony overlooking the canopy and lake, with a ramp leading up from the main deck.

In the first guest house Casa Panorama, there are two bedrooms, one with a queen-size bunk bed with steps (not a ladder) with views of the lake and mountains, the other with a queen bed and views of the backyard and volcano. The bathroom has an oversized slate shower and double vanity. The kitchen is fully equipped with exotic granite counters and new appliances. The living room has an oversized double sliding glass door which opens wide, again to give the sensation that the deck and the living room are one in the same. The best feature is the exotic wood bench and bar that runs along the entire length of the covered deck where guests can dine and watch the sunset over the lake.

The second guest house, Casa Treetop, also has great lake views, but it’s a bit more nestled into the tall, bromeliad-covered trees. Again, a fully equipped kitchen with granite counters and natural stone backsplash. The two bedrooms look out into the trees and the lake beyond. One has queen-size bunk beds. The other has a full-size bed. The bathroom has a natural stone walk-in shower and granite vanity. To reach this house, there is a ramp rather than stairs. Between the two guest houses is a 3-foot breezeway with a communal washer/dryer.

The house is located in a spacious gated community 10 kilometers up the mountain on a country dirt road

from the town of Nuevo Arenal. The development is secluded, yet still close to town. Being higher in elevation, you will always enjoy a fresher, crisper, breezier climate.

The property is only 45 minutes to the famous Arenal Volcano, hot springs, and much more.

The guest house is also well-established as a vacation rental and has exceptional reviews:
